The Miranda Rights are a set of warnings stated to a person who is in custody of law inforcing officers, or in interrogation.
In 1966, A male called Ernesto Miranda was arrested due to several crimes he committed. This man was strongly interrogated by the officers, who eventually got a confenssion out of him. The officers did not state his rights while and before interrogating him. This violated his rights, making an entry for his lawyers to be able to say in court that his confession was not valid due to the circumstances.
A new set of protocols were adapted by the officers all around the United States. The purpose of this decision was to inforce individual rights and stop law inforcement from abusing their power.
